Carlos Davila is originally from Caracas Venezuela. He received his medical degree from The Universidad Central de Venezuela School of medicine where he graduated with honors. In 2011 Carlos applied for and won an International Research Scholarship, he then moved to the United States and completed a clinical research fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Carlos completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Einstein Medical Center where he also served as a chief medical resident. He subsequently completed integrated training in advanced heart failure, and interventional cardiology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Carlos also completed training in advanced structural fellow at the Massachusetts general hospital – Harvard Medical School. During his training he developed a focused interest in cardiogenic shock and structural percutaneous interventions in the advanced heart failure population, which allowed him to be the recipient of the Robert Kung Fellowship award with several publications in the field in top tier journals.
He recently joined the division of Cardiology at Yale school of medicine as an assistant professor. His career goals include the integration of advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support in the catheterization laboratory, as well as the evolving field of structural interventions in the advanced heart failure population. Carlos is dual board certified in interventional Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure Cardiology.
