Alex H. Velasquez M.D., Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, studied medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas at Houston, where he was selected to be chief resident. After his chief residency, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Texas - Houston. He also acted as chief cardiology fellow during his third year of cardiology fellowship. After his cardiology fellowship, he completed a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Health System. He joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as assistant professor of clinical medicine in 2019, in the division of cardiology.
